It is a unique and innovative textured monoprint using natural dyes from plants grown in the artist's garden on watercolor paper. The paper is deeply embossed with the texture of the blackberry canes and leaves. She hammered the pigments from flowers she grew in her garden into the paper and painted it with watercolor, gouache and acrylic and India Ink.
The artwork was inspired by pollinators found in the artists' garden and their role in producing the food we need to thrive.
The watercolor paper for this artwork is made with 65% recycled cotton fiber and 35% new cotton fiber.
Artwork measures 22” x 30” and comes framed in a beautiful floating mount presentation with museum quality standards including white cotton mat board, Japanese paper wheat starch hinges, UV protective acrylic and a contemporary white wood frame measuring 26” x 34”. It is signed in pencil on the front in the lower right corner.
